That’s For Sure Podcast Trailer

Hi everyone! My name is Carrie Ellen and I am so excited to be announcing my new podcast called That’s For Sure. I love a good conversation so hosting a podcast is right up my alley and something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I can’t believe it’s finally here.  

I’m wife to a pilot, a houseplant mom to many gorgeous green leaf friends, and I’m a boy mom to two sons who are just thee best. They’re still little and like me on most days. Well, except when I tell them to clean their room and on laundry day. Then not so much.

I often catch myself responding to things my sons and husband say with that’s for sure. With simple things like, “hey mom, I’m getting super tall” or “it’s sooooooo hot out today.” That’s for sure. And the more I’ve said it over the years, the more I realized that many of us, crave a life of certainty.

Too often throughout our day, we are bombarded with unknowns. Will we make rent this month? Will I have childcare next week? What will the interest rate be when I’ve finally saved enough for a downpayment? What’s the Dr. going to say about my test results? We live in a world of constant uncertainties.

As a mom, I want my kids to be confident in the things they can absolutely be sure of. Because the reality is, the uncertainties of this life are fleeting faster than two shakes of a lamb’s tail. But the word of God will remain.

Elpis is a Greek word for hope used a lot throughout the bible and it simply means, confident expectance that Jesus will do what he says he will do. This is an unshakable truth we can be absolutely sure of that trumps all uncertainty.

He is our living hope and right now he is busy rescuing, restoring, renewing, reconciling all things. He’s building a kingdom and because he always does what he says he will do; we have assurance and hope to withstand all the uncertainties of life.

It’s out of this prayer and passion that my sons anchor to the hope laced word of God that That’s For Sure podcast was born. I have so much to learn about living anchored and tethered to Jesus and I cannot wait to have conversations with folks who are in their lane and doing their thing.

I am just thrilled to launch this podcast and hit the ground running learning from some truly incredible people who fling hope around like it’s their job.
